Teeth Whitening

Brighten Your Smile
Professional whitening services provide a safe and effective method for eliminating surface stains and lightening the colour of your teeth.
The whitening solution that we use is made up of active ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide.
When applied to the teeth, the solution releases oxygen, which interacts with the tooth enamel as the active ingredient breaks down stains, resulting in a whitening effect.
We typically recommend that patients seeking teeth whitening treatment are at least 16 years old. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
How At-Home Teeth Whitening Works
At your appointment, we’ll take impressions of your teeth to create a custom-fitted whitening tray.
You'll come back for a follow-up visit to receive your tray, whitening gel, and step-by-step instructions on how to use them.
To whiten your teeth, simply apply the gel to the tray and wear it over your teeth as directed, typically for one to two hours each day.
The Results
You should see results within 10 to 14 days, with a significant change in tooth colour generally occurring in four to six weeks.
Tooth whitening may have limited effects on heavily stained teeth. In these instances, an alternative restorative or cosmetic treatment such as dental crowns may be used.
Why Choose At-Home Whitening?
People often choose an at-home whitening kit from their dentist because it combines the convenience of whitening on their own schedule with the safety and effectiveness of professional care.
These kits use professional-strength whitening gel, which is typically more effective than over-the-counter options.
Your dentist provides custom-fit trays that keep the gel in close contact with your teeth while protecting your gums, reducing irritation and improving results.
You’ll also receive clear instructions and the option for your dentist to monitor your progress and address any sensitivity.
Because the whitening happens gradually over a week or two, you can control how bright you want your smile, and the results often last longer than those from store-bought alternatives.
